A New Orleans Year

I just got back from a spectacular vacation! I celebrated New Years in New Orleans- and let me tell you this was the perfect time to go!  It was also the sugar bowl, and my favorite team was playing. Everywhere I looked, I saw droves of Michigan fans in Blue gear. I felt like I was in a warm Ann Arbor. The atmosphere was incredible- and new years: unforgettable

NYE fireworks show in NOLA
The French Quarter is the place to be for New Years! I was lost with all the buzz happening around me, so I followed the crowd, and to the perfect place! I ended up right near the Jax Brewery, where the Fleur dropped at midnight followed by fireworks from the river on the other side. It was the most spectacular firework I have ever seen. A great way to ring in 2012- the biggest year of my life. It's the year I turn 18, vote, graduate, choose a college, go to college, lose those damn driving restrictions and so many other things that are bound to happen but not guaranteed.

And here's the best part of the vacation- a FREE impromptu Kelly Clarkson concert that unleashed the 13 year old girl inside me surrounded by Michigan fans and a cranky single smoking douchebag.  The concert reminded me how much I love Kelly Clarkson- and my tweets landed me on the allstate fan fest MEGATRON twice! so follow me @jax223. My tweets are fun and I am pretty good at constantly updating my loyal followers daily. That was an amazing night followed by an amazing win- that I only could watch on tv because my dad didn't want to scalp tickets. oh well- amazing vacation!

UM> VT

Now, everyone go visit NOLA- get some beignets at Cafe Dumond and hang out on Decatur street and Magazine street- skip the over-hyped  Bourbon street. It didn't impress me.

I LOVE FREE MUSIC!

We don't hear that word very often anymore, do we? Free?
I have the hottest tips on where to find free music.

1. Free all Music
Each Tuesday, through facebook, this website gives 1 free song of your choosing to you for free! You only have to watch a commercial to get it. They are sometimes about the Apocalypse, which is weird.  But, Free song is totally worth it.

2. Spotify
Sets up like Itunes and connected to your facebook, you can listen to any song you like, for free, as long as you want. Search songs you don't have, search new music, share playlists with friends... this program is addicting.

3. Pandora
Unless you have been living under a rock your entire life, I'm sure that you have heard of this one.  Here's the gist, pick a favorite  artist or music genre and listen to music that is similar to it. New music!

The Things We Take for Granted

Last night, at the lovely late hour of 11 o'clock. I went to take a shower. I waited 10 minutes for the water to heat up, thinking about how odd it was that the water was still freezing when normally it takes less than 2 minutes to get scalding hot water. Lucky me! My family's water heater broke- and since the problem was discovered at night, there was nothing we could do until the morning..aka... the basement flooded from the exploding heater and ruined the carpet and many other items that I have yet to identify.

Isn't life grand!? I almost  had to take a trip to the gym and use, gasp.... the gym showers at my gym, but than i would feel obligated to work out.... and I just felt kind of lethargic today!

Anyways, this lack of water in my household for the past 24 hours made me realize that I take such small things for granted. Like yesterday, when I left my phone in my car and did not have it on me all day. I thought i was going to die with out it.  Sure, you are thinking, poor, little rich girl with her car, and cell phone, and hot water systems at home. Yet, I realize, so many people do not have access to these things. when problems such as this arise, we should be thankful somehow, and realize that not others have access to such opportunities.

Well, anyways, I do now need to go dry my hair after the most luxurious, hot shower that I have ever taken- most likely because i knew that the possibilities of hot water was endless.

What is sleep?

Sleep? Such a foreign concept!
Just now realizing it is almost midnight, and I still have so much to do- of nothingness. You don't even want to know all of the things i should do. I guess, my nap from earlier is keeping me up right now.

Of course, I can sleep at all hours of the DAY but not fall asleep at normal hours of the night. Yet, I am yet to crawl under the covers, shut off my light and dream.  I should probably do that soon. Meaning that my alarm will go off in less than 7 hours. Go to school. Homework. Nightly TV show. Nightly facebook stalking. Bed. Repeat. Sounds like an interesting life.

I'm sure if I had any of these Anthropologie creations I would be frolicking in dream world right now. Oh, wait, I do have a Anthro bedspread. SUPER AWKWARD!

Pretty Arabian Nights
Wow! thanks for outbedding me! This takes my breath away!

And the daunting voice of my laptop just said, "IT'S 12 O' CLOCK". Guess I should stop typing now and do everything  I just wrote about above. Sweet Dreams

Apple and it's addicting commercials

If anyone knows how to advertise, it's Apple.
They show off their ipad and iphone technology, with some upbeat music, and I'm hooked. Each commercial leaves me craving for Apple products and wondering where that song came from that played in the background. I swear, those 30 second advertisements leave me singing the music all day long.

I thought that we should take a look at a few of my favorite commercials:
Right now, the most recent one airing is what got me back on this blog!
I know you may be tired of it, but here it is: first on the list:

Song: Tongue Tied by Group Love

Next up: Not exactly  a song I'm dying to buy off Itunes, but it just makes me really want to get an iphone 4s... except the fact that Siri is not smart enough to find me a bakery when i say "I want a cupcake."

Are you bored of these commercials yet?

Song : New Soul by Yael Naim

And remember the good old days of the nano?  I never had one, but I still have my clunker of the first generation video ipod. Good times good times. When this commercial debuted, i could not stop dancing and one of the guys reminded me of my friend Tarrek.
Bourgeois Shangri-La by Miss Li

And finally, the retro ipod commercial with the black dancing figures!

Technology by Daft Punk

I guess I'll add this one too because I love the song! It was also featured on Gossip Girl
No you Girls by Franz Ferdinand

Those Darn College Applications

All that has been on my mind lately is, college. College. College. College. I'm not even in college yet and my life is consumed with it.

Those college applications  are the most pretentious documents ever to exist. And the deadlines! Nerve wracking! I never know what they are looking for. Good essays and community involvement sure, but the  ideas are just so hard to grasp.

Thank goodness I have 4 applications in for Early Action! Now, in a few days, I shall allow myself to start freaking out  about regular decision.  Right now, I have to wait. God, I hate waiting. I'd much rather take a nap like my dog Daisy. I think she is hungry because she keeps barking at me. I have such a demanding dog.  She is spoiled rotten, but I love her anyways. Oh how i wish my baby dog could go to college with me.

Sugar High

Sugary candy can have very dangerous effects. I am on a sugar high. I have lost track of the strawberry starburst and laffy taffy's I have just eaten. Right now,  I am crazy hyper and going spastic. My friends are laughing at all the funny things I am saying....
For instance, I just yelled... P.E like dark Vader to my friend

I'm a real creep when I'm hyper.
Anyway, I am currently at Grady College at UGA having the time of my life doing a Journalism summer camp.
I have been writing all day long minus my friend Haley and I straying from our assignment and going shopping in downtown Athens! haha
Don't worry, we got the interviews and researchers we need. We even interviewed a store employee!

Oh, and if anyone has any idea of where to find really cute BLACK sandals under $30, comment and tell me where to find them!

The rest of my blog just disappeared!

So, the first half of my blog post just went M.I.A and it was sooo good! I don't have time to retype it, so, here is what survived!

Well.... I really want to put up some more pictures, but my computer is being dumb and won't let me upload any pictures or add pictures from Facebook. Oh, and I just head a thud and the power went off.... but now its on again and my laptop had enough battery to stay on for once!

So, tonight is my school's dance show. We are doing a really cool song called Release by afro celt sound system .The costumes are more 80s than nature-y/ african like/ irish like. Now, listen to the song!

Oh and buy these shorts from urban outfitters! So comfortable and cute! I'm wearing them right now! I really want another pair!

AP Testing

On the eve of my final AP Exam, AP Language and Comp, I have no desire to study. In fact, I am burnt out from an excess of practice. I desire a 5, a 4 is acceptable, but I shall always be pining for a 5. A 5 is what colleges want for college credit. However, I do not seek college credit, I seek self satisfaction of my mastery of my courses. Last year, I got a 5 on my AP World exam and I hope for a 5 on my AP US history exam too. I will give no details of the exams just that these exams are just so stressful for some reason. I mean, right now I feel perfectly calm, but come 6:45 am, I shall be a basket case of nerves... its like a switch is turned on in my brain, and I can not function.

I'm not sure where I am going with this.... I still need to figure out what an "Ad hoc" argument is... I guess I could google it.

Sigh.

Oh well... three hours of testing is better than 7 hours of school. i guess.

Oh and finding a picture takes too much effort right now... I'm going to bed. :)

What boredom does to me

School was canceled for tomorrow too. Now, after being stuck in the house, I'm going a little crazy. I need socialization. My mother wants me to spend the time by exercising, cleaning and cooking dinner. My father  is smart.... he takes naps like me.

Naps are the way to go. When all else fails, take a nap. I was bored, so I took a nap. Don't feel like studying; take a nap. I'm tired, TAKE A NAP. Daisy's taking a nap, oh... I'LL TAKE A NAP!You see the progression of life?

Now, I decided to write a poem (on the spot) to express my boredom to you all.....

Snow
is beautiful
Snow days are fun
Ice
is dangerous
Trapped days are boring

3 days of nothing to do
no social interaction
I DON'T HAVE THE FLU
the streets get no traction

i'm going crazy!
i want to go outside
see people

its no fun to play in the snow alone
and this is a pretty wack temperature zone....

yeah, sorry guys, my brain isn't working... it is on terminal chill right now until school starts again which then becomes infinite stress.
Don't worry, I don't plan on being the next Ralph Waldo Emerson or Shel Silverstein.... but they are pretty amazing. Now, here is a funny Snow man

oh, and while you are bored... check out the Rock Mafia's new music video The Big Bang... I love the whole storyline and the cinematography. So watch it. It was free on itunes yesterday, but i guess you missed out... Suckas! Haha, love you anyways

Yes, that is Miley Cyrus,
Isn't this video just mind boggling? Tell me your theories on the video. Leave a comment.

Snow Day(s)

The South is having some bizarre weather. Let's just say that we have lots and lots of snow! So much, that school has been canceled for TWO days! My friend Dylan in Ohio is in awe of the cancelations thinking that 6 inches is a joke. HELLO DYLAN! This is the south... we tend to freak out. My mom thinks that we are never leaving the house. My take: enjoy while we can and enjoy the break

I'm liking January so far, I mean, every single week is going to be shortened! NO 5 DAY SCHOOL WEEKS! With the snow days, I can accomplish so much in addition to enjoying the snow! My dog, Daisy even loved the snow! She liked walking around in it. However, the top layer of snow is thick ice followed by the good stuff underneath. My neighbor's dog is so small, that her foot steps didnt break the ice. I mean my dog is no beast, she is easily able to be carried.... but she broke the ice! Get it? She broke the ice? She broke the tension?

Haha

Well anyways... Here is a list of things to do on  a snow day
  • Make a snowman
  • make a snow angel
  • walk to a friend's house
  • walk to the nearest drug store
  • be on facebook
  • create a blog
  • do homework
  • catch up on homework
  • hope that tomorrow is a snow day
  • play sims3
  • drink hot chocolate
  • skype(if people will pick up)
  • and lastly...TAKE LOTS AND LOTS OF PICTURES TO REMEMBER THE MEMORIES THAT GA HAD LOTS OF SNOW!!!
Oh, Don't you just love snow days? Now, I wonder what I will do tomorrow with this extra fun day of snow!
Any suggestions?

The Inaugural Post

Hello readers
This is the very first blog posting of THE STORY NEVER ENDS. You may be wondering why I chose this title. Well, simple.
The story of life is simply unfinished, unwritten, incomplete. This is a blog that can never end, unless, well, I just don't post. So far, I  haven't come up with a defined theme. As fun as it is to read my friend's blogs strictly about fashion or traveling, I will encompass every aspect of life that intrigues me. I am spontaneous and random- and a tad disorganized (also seen in my writing)

Let's just say that this is like that mystery feature on google, but I forgot what it was called, but my friend Katie showed it to me. Well anyways, this blog will be that random, what was she thinking type of thing.
Congratulations: You get to read about the inter workings of my brain! wahoo!

-J

*the mystery google feature pulls up a random search.

P.S: Remember Happy Bunny?
