I just got back from a spectacular vacation! I celebrated New Years in New Orleans- and let me tell you this was the perfect time to go! It was also the sugar bowl, and my favorite team was playing. Everywhere I looked, I saw droves of Michigan fans in Blue gear. I felt like I was in a warm Ann Arbor. The atmosphere was incredible- and new years: unforgettable
NYE fireworks show in NOLA
The French Quarter is the place to be for New Years! I was lost with all the buzz happening around me, so I followed the crowd, and to the perfect place! I ended up right near the Jax Brewery, where the Fleur dropped at midnight followed by fireworks from the river on the other side. It was the most spectacular firework I have ever seen. A great way to ring in 2012- the biggest year of my life. It's the year I turn 18, vote, graduate, choose a college, go to college, lose those damn driving restrictions and so many other things that are bound to happen but not guaranteed.
And here's the best part of the vacation- a FREE impromptu Kelly Clarkson concert that unleashed the 13 year old girl inside me surrounded by Michigan fans and a cranky single smoking douchebag. The concert reminded me how much I love Kelly Clarkson- and my tweets landed me on the allstate fan fest MEGATRON twice! so follow me @jax223. My tweets are fun and I am pretty good at constantly updating my loyal followers daily. That was an amazing night followed by an amazing win- that I only could watch on tv because my dad didn't want to scalp tickets. oh well- amazing vacation!

Now, everyone go visit NOLA- get some beignets at Cafe Dumond and hang out on Decatur street and Magazine street- skip the over-hyped Bourbon street. It didn't impress me.
We don't hear that word very often anymore, do we? Free?
I have the hottest tips on where to find free music.
1. Free all Music Each Tuesday, through facebook, this website gives 1 free song of your choosing to you for free! You only have to watch a commercial to get it. They are sometimes about the Apocalypse, which is weird. But, Free song is totally worth it.
2. Spotify
Sets up like Itunes and connected to your facebook, you can listen to any song you like, for free, as long as you want. Search songs you don't have, search new music, share playlists with friends... this program is addicting.
3. Pandora
Unless you have been living under a rock your entire life, I'm sure that you have heard of this one. Here's the gist, pick a favorite artist or music genre and listen to music that is similar to it. New music!
If anyone knows how to advertise, it's Apple.
They show off their ipad and iphone technology, with some upbeat music, and I'm hooked. Each commercial leaves me craving for Apple products and wondering where that song came from that played in the background. I swear, those 30 second advertisements leave me singing the music all day long.
I thought that we should take a look at a few of my favorite commercials:
Right now, the most recent one airing is what got me back on this blog!
I know you may be tired of it, but here it is: first on the list:
Song: Tongue Tied by Group Love
Next up: Not exactly a song I'm dying to buy off Itunes, but it just makes me really want to get an iphone 4s... except the fact that Siri is not smart enough to find me a bakery when i say "I want a cupcake."
Are you bored of these commercials yet?
Song : New Soul by Yael Naim
And remember the good old days of the nano? I never had one, but I still have my clunker of the first generation video ipod. Good times good times. When this commercial debuted, i could not stop dancing and one of the guys reminded me of my friend Tarrek.
Bourgeois Shangri-La by Miss Li
And finally, the retro ipod commercial with the black dancing figures!
Technology by Daft Punk
I guess I'll add this one too because I love the song! It was also featured on Gossip Girl
